About Us

Barb Drook

Born & raised in Wabash County, Barb is a graduate of Southwood High School and Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio.  After college, she built a successful 40-year career in sales and marketing before retiring from Cincinnati Insurance.  Barb and her husband, Tim Moroney, raised four daughters and are now proud grandparents of seven.  In addition to her love of vintage shopping- which inspired Bad Habits- she enjoys reading, bicycling, pickleball, yoga and traveling.

"Bad Habits began as a hobby after I retired, inspired by my love for the formality and elegance of the 1940’s and 50’s cocktail hour.  I’ve always admired the care people took in both their attire and their entertaining, right down to the glassware and service pieces.  Opening this store is my way of celebrating that timeless style and sharing it with others who appreciate vintage charm and the art of entertaining.   I’m especially excited to bring Bad Habits to Lagro, the community where I grew up, and to contribute to its growth and character."

Lavonne Sparling

Lavonne and her husband, Ron Sparling, moved to the Lagro community after graduating from Purdue University in 1971. They raised their children, Kale Sparling and Kami (Sparling) Ross, on a farm just south of town.

Lavonne’s career in education was with the Metropolitan School District of Wabash County. She taught at Lagro and Southwood Elementary Schools before leading the Quest program for many years and later retiring as Chief Academic Officer in 2014.

She enjoys reading, traveling, playing pickleball, collecting vintage clothing and antiques, and spending time with her four grandsons. In retirement, her most challenging yet rewarding project has been renovating a pre–Civil War home in Lagro.

Believing community involvement is important, she has served on the boards of Junior Achievement, the Wabash County Museum, and the YMCA. Lavonne currently serves as secretary and grant writer for the Lagro Canal Foundation Board, contributing to the continued development and revitalization of the Lagro community.

"Opening Red Clover Shoppe is an exciting cooperative adventure. Several small businesses will be sharing a beautiful space in the restored IORM building in downtown Lagro. It is the largest of the three adjoining buildings which were saved from potential demolition and are now on the National Registry of Historic Places. When I walk into the building, the images in my head are those from the hundreds of hours Lagro Canal Foundation volunteers spent clearing debris. I wish we would have tracked the number of dumpsters and dump trucks we filled! The building interiors have now been expertly renovated by Bailey Construction and will serve the community for years to come. I’m excited to welcome guests to The Red Clover Shoppe and I’m looking forward to joining other business owners as we Lagro(w) Together!"

Tammy Keaffaber

Tammy actually attended Lagro Elementary and can remember many fun times in Lagro with her parents Ed and Becky Shear who were also heavily involved in the community.  Becky was a Boy Scout Leader and Ed was a member of the Lagro Lions Club for many years to name a few.

Tammy currently works as a commercial insurance agent for Robley Insurance out of Greenwood, IN.  This allows her to work from home and travel to the Indy area once a week.  This makes the Lagro area even more special to Tammy, it’s a great place to live!

Randy and Tammy, and her sister Deb Conner also own The Hopewell House Airbnb at 200 Davis Street in Lagro.  It has been a labor of love restoring this 1880’s brick home back to it’s original glory.  This 5 bedroom, 4 bath home is actually right around the corner from the Red Clover Shoppe and is available for short term rentals.

Tammy also owns Antique Boutique at Hopewell which is located in the Historic Hopewell Church in Urbana Indiana.  The opportunity to also be located at the Red Clover Shoppe is a privilege and an exciting time for Lagro.
